Building Purchase Update

Greetings and grace to you in the name of our risen Lord, Jesus Christ.

This coming Sunday, Jun 13, the provisional session and your leadership team are presenting their recommendation that the congregation of Redeemer Presbyterian Church purchase the property located at 5535 Shady Grove Rd., Mt. Olive, Ala 35117, for the price of $300,000.00.

At the conclusion of our morning worship service, we will call the congregation to a meeting to state our position on the purchasing of this property. If you are unable to be with us in person, please contact me or one of our leadership team members (Chad Montoya, Travis Prince, Jordan Byrd, Steven Johnson, Shawn Robb, or Richy Hall) and let them know of your position concerning the purchase of this property.

Items of Note:

  • The property will be available for your viewing this Saturday, Jun 12, from 9am-12pm.

  • This property is presently owned by Daystar Christian Church.

  • The property includes a church building with educational space and fellowship hall.

  • The property also includes a small house (located next door to the church building).

    • The small house is currently rented, and we will work with the present renters to determine a suitable time frame for them to continue renting under the current terms.

    • Our plans are to continue renting the house unless otherwise needed (this would provide some monies that would go toward paying for the properties).

    • We have learned that the house has siding with asbestos (According to the best current information, it poses no significant health risk; however, if it is removed it would need to be disposed of professionally.)

    • The AC unit to the sanctuary is being checked out and Daystar is working with us in this regard. We’ll update as soon as possible.

How can you be involved?

  1. Keep praying. Keep praying. Keep praying.

  2. Continue to be faithful in your attendance and regular giving.

  3. Share with family and friends about our building fund.

  4. Give thanks to the Lord for His faithfulness!

As of Jun 7, we have raised $21,000.00 toward our goal.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Pastor Wayne
